After months of design and development, TransOptions unveils a new and more user-friendly website that is both functional and informational.
The website was built by the New Jersey-based web design company Lform and includes a number of new customized features that will assist not only commuters, but all residents of the area on a wide-range of transportation issues.
The new site includes vast amounts of information in a user-friendly format. It can be a resource for employers, commuters, public officials, students, parents and anyone else who relies on the region’s transportation infrastructure. Visitors can stay up-to-date with bus, train and shuttle schedules for routes throughout northwest New Jersey. Employers can find information on transportation issues relevant to them, such as carpooling, vanpooling, teleworking, lunch and learn presentations and more. Visitors to the site can also learn about all of the community-based programs offered by TransOptions, such as Bike Right® courses, pedestrian safety classes and distracted driving campaigns.
TransOptions' new website features a Map It page that allows users to visualize the locations of park and rides, bike lockers, mass transit routes, and bike routes. The map will provide visitors to the site a way to plan their own alternative commute and find useful resources (bike shops, farmers markets) along the way.
"We hope that people throughout our service area and beyond will find the site to be a fresh take and a center for information. All of the resources from our old site will be available, as well as many new ones, but everything will be presented in a more efficient and accessible manner," said TransOptions President
John F. Ciaffone. "I hope that everyone gets a chance to visit it and learn a little more about what we do, how we can help them, and just how many resources are available to them when it comes to transportation in New Jersey."
