Laura joined TransOptions in January 2013. As a Project Manager, Laura leads the Street Smart pedestrian safety campaign in TransOptions’ service area. Street Smart is a statewide effort that uses high-visibility enforcement, education, and grassroots outreach to change unsafe driving in walking behaviors. Since 2015, over 10 campaigns have been successfully launched in communities throughout TransOptions’ service area including Washington (Warren County), Newton, Morristown, Summit, Dover, Boonton, New Providence and Morris Plains. Laura is passionate about improving health and safety by preventing serious crashes resulting in injuries and fatalities on NJ roadways.
Laura came to TransOptions after graduating from Bloomsburg University in 2012 where she earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and minored in psychology. In December 2014, Laura participated in a social marketing in transportation program with the Center for Urban Transportation Research and the School of Public Health at the University of South Florida. In December 2018, Laura received her certificate in public health from Rutgers University and is working towards a master’s in public health with a concentration in social and behavior health sciences from Rutgers.
