TransOptions, the Transportation Management Association for northwest New Jersey, saluted the Honorable Susan Zellman as Elected Official of the Year during its Annual Recognition Program on July 19, 2012 at County College of Morris in Randolph.
"Freeholder Zellman has been a critical voice on transportation issues since she was first elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders of Sussex County nearly twelve years ago," said John F. Ciaffone, TransOptions President. "Early on she recognized the importance of transportation for economic development," he added.
Freeholder Zellman served on the New Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) in Executive Committee Leadership positions including a term as Chair of the Board of Trustees. She was instrumental in founding the Six-County Coalition to seek policy coordination of the northern New Jersey counties on issues of regional importance. She has been a Board Member of TransOptions since 2001 and is a longtime supporter of New Jersey’s Transportation Management Associations.
TransOptions Recognition Program annually acknowledges outstanding business leaders, community members and volunteers as “Champions” of alternative transportation programs along with employers that earn the prestigious New Jersey Smart Workplace Award for offering commuter programs.
