Since joining the TranOptions’ team in 2016, Emily has utilized her years of experience in education to develop and facilitate both environmental education and bike/pedestrian safety programs within our service region. As Bicycle Programs Coordinator, Emily oversees our Bike Right® program, which offers riders of all ages and skill levels free training courses on traffic safety, bicycle commuting and learning to ride. Emily also manages the NJ Transit Bike Locker Program. Currently, her focus is on expanding bicycle safety programs throughout the communities we serve and working towards the launch of a bike share system in Morris County. Emily strives to normalize bike riding in our culture so people not only see avid road warriors but also everyday people getting from point A to point B on bike and leaving the car at home.
Emily’s education background includes a B.S. in Education and Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont and a certificate in Executive Business Management and Leadership from the University of Kentucky. Emily currently holds a New Jersey Elementary and Special Education Teacher’s Certification. She is also a League of American Bicyclists league-certified cycling instructor (LCI).
