100 Cars for Good Voting Day One Month Away

Be sure to visit on July 15 to vote for us!

TransOptions is proud to have been selected as a finalist in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good Program.

Toyota's 100 Cars for Good is a major, national philanthropy program in which the automaker is giving away 100 cars to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days. Winners will be selected each day through public voting on Facebook. 100 Cars for Good is the first initiative that directly engages the public to determine how Toyota’s philanthropic donations are awarded.

For a number of years, TransOptions had a Toyota Prius that served as an invaluable hands-on tool for our environmental education programs. That car is no longer available for our use, so winning a Prius v would be a great opportunity to continue that aspect of our innovative environmental programs.

The Prius v would help us educate kids and adults about the use of alternative fuels and energy independence. We would use the Prius v as both a visual and hands-on tool to demonstrate how to use cleaner energy technologies. Through learning about the car and the technology, students can immediately grasp how the battery is generating power without a full reliance upon gasoline and without emitting large amounts of pollution into the air.

TransOptions’ environmental education programs educate the drivers of tomorrow about alternative fuels through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Students who participate in our programs take away the message that the fuel consumption changes we make today afford us a cleaner and more prosperous future.

During the voting phase, five organizations will be profiled each day on Toyota’s Facebook page, and voters can select the organization they feel will do the most good with a new Toyota vehicle. Voters can place one vote per day, each day, over the course of the program at
