Senior Pedestrians

Addressing Mobility ConcernsAdults ages 50 to 64 comprise the largest segment of state-wide pedestrian fatalities based on New Jersey State Police data as a result of longevity and a growing senior population
Senior pedestrians face additional mobility needs and challenges. Some seniors move more slowly or use a cane or walker. Some are vision- or hearing-impaired. The effects of medication may also impede a senior's mobility.
