Addressing Mobility ConcernsAdults ages 50 to 64 comprise the largest segment of state-wide pedestrian fatalities based on New Jersey State Police data as a result of longevity and a growing senior population
Senior pedestrians face additional mobility needs and challenges. Some seniors move more slowly or use a cane or walker. Some are vision- or hearing-impaired. The effects of medication may also impede a senior's mobility.
Get All The FactsTransOptions offers a Pedestrian Safety program to senior groups, clubs and community organizations at no cost. We even bring our own equipment! The program includes a PowerPoint presentation with safe walking tips and ways to help mobility-challenged pedestrians get around safely. A brief question and answer session is held immediately following. For more information or to schedule a program, contact Judy Bortman at (973) 267-7600 or send her an email here.
